Health Office

To help maintain the safety and general health of our students, Saint Raymond School has a certified health professional on staff every day. The health office tends to minor wound care and any emergency medical situations that may arise within the school. This office also maintains records of all student absences; physical exam, dental, and vision data; and student allergy information and medicines. Throughout the year, the health office also helps to schedule and run vision and hearing screenings along with lectures on CPR, anti-smoking, and puberty.

Information for the Nurse

Please keep the nurse aware:

• Of any existing health conditions and/or medications your child is taking.
• If your child has been injured and has an activity limitation. A doctor’s note is required for a child with an activity limitation (for example, no gym).
• If your child was hospitalized recently and/or any changes to the child’s care. This can be coordinated with the nurse and teachers.
• Of any Covid test results .

WHEN SHOULD A STUDENT SHOULD STAY HOME FROM SCHOOL

• Fever of 100.4 or higher. Student may return when they are 24-hrs. fever free without fever reducing medications.
• Nausea/vomiting/diarrhea. Student may return when nausea/vomiting/diarrhea free for 24 hrs.
• Rash, drainage from the eye or wound, and any infectious illness (pink eye, hand foot and mouth disease, strep throat)
• Severe Pain
• A doctor's order to stay home
• Symptoms of Covid Illness:
  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Upper Respiratory Illness

• In general, any illnesses where the student is absent 3 or more days require a doctor’s note to return.
